Bridgeport Film Fest
1720 Fairfield Ave
Studio #31A
Bridgeport, CT 06605
Established in 2021, the Bridgeport Film Fest is an impressive four day event with both in-person and virtual viewing options, which aims to celebrate the diversity and vitality of the film and art communities in the greater Bridgeport, CT area, and support economic development. With various year round specialty screenings, filmmaker Q+As, industry leader talk backs, virtual reality screenings, writing and acting workshops, monthly networking events, and more, the vision for the Bridgeport film festival is to establish Bridgeport as a diverse hub for filmmakers and other artists to showcase their talents, while continuing its mission of showcasing, guiding, and inspiring independent film and theatre artists. Unfortunately, Bridgeport is an underserved community yet the city highly benefits from the additional access to the arts, culture and humanities that BFF provides.
Over the last four years, we've screened over 350 short narrative films, documentaries, and music videos from 22 countries worldwide including the United States, Canada, Australia, England, Mexico, Iran, Palestine, China,Colombia, South Africa, Dominican Republic and more. We were also proud to have had the Connecticut premiere of the 2024 documentary film "Luther" about the R&B icon as our Spotlight Screening last year.
The Bridgeport Film Fest is an initiative under the non-profit City Lights/Bridgeport Art Trail. City Lights is a platform of the arts that brings together people of diverse backgrounds to share a cultural experience through relevant and thought-provoking exhibits and programs. City Lights seeks to promote diversity, equity, and inclusivity through content, process, decision making and representation.
Lastly, we are proud to call the historic Klein Memorial Auditorium, a 1400 seat union theater, our main home for our fifth year, in addition to satellite popup locations at the Connecticut State University at Housatonic and the Nest Arts Factory! Check out our website for more info.
