Shotgun Cinema is a nonprofit film exhibitor, founded in 2013. Shotgun's mission is to reinvigorate cinema through the film-going experience. The cinema programs films that engage, inspire, and educate the audience and present them with the best possible care. Shotgun Cinema strives to show films in a way that honors the filmmaker's intentions, and to immerse audiences as much as possible in the story on screen.

Shotgun is currently a mobile film presenter that uses its mobility to expand its presence in New Orleans and to form a unique role in collaborating with other organizations. Mobility gives Shotgun the ability to take screenings into neighborhoods that best fit its audience's needs, to make those screening accessible as possible. Shotgun plans to open a year-round cinema within five years,
