Roxy Theater
The Roxy Theater originally opened on September 26, 1937, and operated as a movie theater until 1994, when a terrible fire destroyed the building. The International Wildlife Film Festival, which was founded in 1977, purchased the building in 2002. The Roxy Theater became the home of International Wildlife Festival as well as a media center and educational facility. The Roxy Theater launched year-round programming in August 2013. Today, The Roxy Theater is a thriving community cinema hosting screenings seven days a week. It screens new releases nightly and hosts a monthly calendar of independent, foreign, and classic films, live music and theater, and community events. With the help of our patrons, volunteers, and members, we are merging community, cinema, and education. Our mission is to inspire, educate, and engage diverse audiences through our innovative programming.
