The mission of the Museum of Discovery and Science (MODS) is connecting people to inspiring science. Located in the heart of downtown Fort Lauderdale, MODS features 30+ interactive exhibits, an outdoor Science Park, live animal collection, rotating schedule of science shows and lectures, and award-winning camps, workshops and special events. More than 450,000 people visit the Museum annually from all 50 U.S. states and 20 foreign countries.

MODS showcases immersive IMAX documentaries in its 263-seat AutoNation IMAX® 3D Theater featuring both 2D and 3D films. Our IMAX Theater is the only Certified Giant Screen® in South Florida, with a powerful sound system, 4K Laser projection system for unparalleled clarity and brilliance, and a 60 ft. x 80 ft. giant screen for a truly immersive film experience. This year for Science on Screen, MODS will be partnering with the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival (FLiFF) to offer a six-part series including the showing of four science-based documentary films in our IMAX theater and two virtual events featuring Everest climber Araceli Segarra and retired NASA astronaut Dr. Ellen Ochoa. With a compelling array of guest speakers and documentary films, we expect to welcome more than 2,000 guests during the Science on Screen season.
