The Egyptian Theatre is a historic movie theatre in Coos Bay, Oregon. It was originally built as a garage, and was converted to a theatre in 1925. After the theatre was purchased by the City of Coos Bay Urban Renewal Agency in 2006, dedicated volunteers worked countless hours to successfully operate and begin restoring the Egyptian for the benefit of the community. In 2011, the theatre was closed for structural repairs and renovation. Thanks to their efforts, this historic Oregon Coast icon was restored to its former glory and celebrated the grand re-opening in June 2014.
