Desert Hearts Film Society is a new group of dedicated cinephiles bringing arthouse cinema to Reno, NV. Started in January 2026 to fill a need in the local art scene, we are a pop-up microcinema screening exciting films in venues around town, from traditional theaters to museums and even the middle of the woods. In 2026, our inaugural year, we organized five sold out screenings that engaged a broad spectrum of audiences, diverse in identities but united in their love for independent, foreign, and classic films.

The Discovery Museum is a hands-on science center designed to spark visitors’ curiosity—regardless of age. The museum boasts 67,000 square-feet of ever-changing galleries and exhibits focused on science, technology, engineering, art and invention, all designed to inspire curiosity, creativity and the joy of lifelong learning in all who visit.
