Film Synopsis
Science teacher Ryland Grace is on a mission to save Earth. An unexpected friendship may be the key.
Science teacher Ryland Grace (Ryan Gosling) wakes up on a spaceship with no recollection of who he is or how he got there. As his memory slowly returns, he soon discovers he must solve the riddle behind a mysterious substance that's causing the sun to die out. As details of the mission unravel, he calls on his scientific training and sheer ingenuity—but he may not have to do it alone.

About the Speaker
Sarah Edwards works in laboratory operations for the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s regulatory food safety agency. She holds a PhD from Stanford University, where her research focused at the nexus of organic chemistry and molecular and cellular biology.
Sarah has a passion for scientific outreach and communication and is now more than 10 years into annually judging kids’ science projects and adults’ science films. Some semesters, she can be found teaching chemistry in the evenings at Athens Tech.
She loved reading Project Hail Mary and is excited to talk about it in a public forum.
