Program Description
Multiverse theory and parallel universes are excellent storytelling devices for mind-bending science fiction. Prior to the film, Erin Macdonald (PhD, Astrophysics; Science Advisor for Star Trek) will join us to talk about the science behind different multiverse theories and how they are utilized in the stories we know and love. Dr. Erin Macdonald (PhD, Astrophysics) is a writer, speaker, producer, and science advisor. After the film, director Brendan Choisnet will join us on stage for a Q & A.
Film Synopsis
A romantic sci-fi drama about a woman whose husband disappears in a scientific experiment, only to return a year later.
When Elenore’s (Emily Deschanel) husband (Sam Trammell) disappears when he enlists in a scientific experiment. A year later, he returns, but she learns he's now from a parallel dimension. Elenore must decide whether to pursue the man who is 99% of the husband she married or wait for the return of the man she once knew.

About the Speaker
Erin Macdonald has a PhD in Astrophysics and currently works as an award-winning writer, speaker, producer, and most notably the official science advisor for the Star Trek franchise. Her work as a science communicator has been recognized internationally including being a part of Star Trek’s institutional Peabody Award. She continues to give talks all over the world on the intersection of science and science fiction while working on her own writing and stories.
Brendan Choisnet is the owner of Plywood Pictures & co-founder of PlotNaut. With over 18 years of directing experience across film, television, podcasts, and commercial projects, his work includes the film THE CULT OF SINCERITY, the first narrative feature to world premiere on YouTube. His clients include Google, Twitter, Disney, Penguin Random House, New York University and the Boys & Girls Club. When he isn't plotting, he's adventuring with his kids and squeezing in as much tennis as possible.
