Film Synopsis

A family of ducks try to convince their overprotective father to go on the vacation of a lifetime.

    A family of ducks decides to leave the safety of a New England pond for an adventurous trip to Jamaica. However, their well-laid plans quickly go awry when they get lost and wind up in New York City. The experience soon inspires them to expand their horizons, open themselves up to new friends, and accomplish more than they ever thought possible.

    About the Speaker

    Shanika Ward currently serves as a Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) at the North Mississippi Regional Center. Shanika has served over 19 years with the Department of Mental Health, and she is dedicated to the pursuit of simply making the world a better place. Shanika is an avid volunteer who spends countless hours serving the community through several organizations including: 2023-2024 President of the Junior Auxiliary of Oxford, MS; Vice President of Voter Services for the League of Women Voters- Oxford/North MS; as a Board member for Doors of Hope Transition Ministries and the Lafayette County Literacy Council; and she is an active member and officer of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. and the National Pan Hellenic Council for North MS. Shanika was a member of the 2021 Class of Leadership Lafayette, where she earned the esteemed Leadership Award following her contributions to the Sensory Cinema Series project.
